Top 5 reasons why adf.ly link shorter is bad

Why bloggers and social media users should avoid adf.ly?

Link shortening services help us by
shortening the Link into a small shortened link which we can share with our friends easily and which we can remember for future use. Many link shortening services like adf.ly, linkbucks and shorts.st offer money for every visitor that visits your shortened link. But using link shortneners might not be such a good idea because of the following reasons:-

1. Malware advertisement:-

Link shortening services nowadays are sending clickers to malware infested sites and also showing them malware ads which is harmful to the visitors and directly affects your reputation as well. Many advertisement offer downloads for pc and mobile. If the visitor don't have an active antivirus installed then the download is performed without consent of the user. Adf.ly also is using the same ethics and is also showing malware infested ads which if you post on blog or a website then you get immediately marked by google bots as dangerous site or suspicious site.

2. Bad rotation:-

You think when users skip the ad they get rotated to the Link you shared in the first place but instead they get in rotation of nonsensical advertisements and visitor to your link never reach the shared link which is bad for the traffic to the Link. Adf.ly also stops the visitors from visiting the shared link by getting them in bad rotation.

3. Link gets open in new tab:-

When the visitor visits your shared link. He waits for 5 seconds for the ad timer to finish and when the visitor clicks the skip ad link a new windows pops up and the Link is opened in a new page but this page gets reloaded to load a new advertisement which sometimes put load on the browser itself.

4. Banned domain names:-

Adf.ly offer domain names which are banned by Social sharing sites as well as by google search engine so your link will probably won't be allowed on social networking sites like Facebook Twitter etc.

5. Unlimited pop-up!

Last but not least when a visitor visits your shared link he gets spammed by unlimited popup ads which hangs the whole system down and in frustration the visitor is forced to close the whole browser. This decreases the traffic to your link significantly and the visitor avoids the links that is shared by you on any platform in the future.
Adf.ly is not a bad service. In this article we are not hating or shaming adf.ly but adf.y needs to implement certain policies which a visitor to shared link can enjoy as well.
For adf.ly alternative you can use bit.ly as it is supported by many social networks as well as by google
.
