Yes you will need Linux as you will be installing Hitleap on Ubuntu server.You can also purchase other low price VPS but it wont run Hitleap so don't be a scrooge and buy a proper VPS.

So here are the steps to install and run hitleap on VPS and this is only for windows as i am a windows user!

1. After purchasing VPS server. Install Ubuntu 14.04 64bit. You can do this by going in view details and then virtual machine settings.
2. After Ubuntu installation you will get an ip address, Root username and password. Remember this as it will be used when using putty.
3. Next step is to download putty! You can download putty from this link
4. Install Putty and run Putty.
5. In the Hostname or Ip address enter your IP address you got from your host of VPS or VPS IP address.
6. In username enter Root.
7. In password enter the password that again you got from your host of VPS.
8. Now click connect of putty and you will connect to putty.
9. Run the commands below one at a time.
10. apt-get purge apache2* bind9* samba*
11. apt-get update
12. apt-get upgrade
13. apt-get install nano
14. apt-get install xorg lxde-core tightvncserver
15. sudo apt-get update
16. sudo apt-get install wine
17. adduser hitleap
18. and then type out for the password "123456" and confirm if necessary
19. tightvncserver :1
20. Then type out for the password "123456" and confirm if necessary
21. tightvncserver -kill :1
22. nano ~/.vnc/xstartup
23. At the bottom of the file place copy and paste these lines
24. lxterminal &
    /usr/bin/lxsession -s LXDE &
25. Then on your keyboard press CTRL+o to save.
26. Then press enter on keyboard to save filename.
27. Now press CTRL+X to exit console.
28. Reboot
29. Now again start putty but this time login with "hitleap" for username and "123456" for password. IP will remain same.
30. Now enter the line below in putty
31. vncserver :1 -geometry 1024x768 -depth 16 -pixelformat rgb565
32. Then type password 123456 and confirm if necessary.
33. Now run the following commands.
34. cd Desktop
35. wget -O hitleap.msi https://hitleap.com/viewer/download?platform=Windows
36. wine start hitleap.msi
37. Wait for the message msi_dialog_run_message_loop Failed to create dialog L"ExitDialog" then press ctrl+c. Note that if you can't install hitleap from putty you can easily install from desktop easily(Follow the guide)
38. Now download VNC viewer from this link.
39. Install this on PC and not on VPS.
40. Run VNC viewer and use [your IP]:5901 for your ip and password 123456
41. You will see desktop of VPS. If hitleap installed successfully then you will see hitleap icon on desktop.
42. Click on hitleap icon and run hitleap. If not installed successfully install hitleap file from desktop.

And that is it. You have successfully installed and run hitleap on VPS. You can run more Autosurf software on pc but i would recommend only hitleap
